Methods and results vary: peptide reports may show HPLC purity or LC-MS results, while bacteriostatic-water reports measure different properties. Each listed report identifies a batch and test date. Each certificate names the testing laboratory, the batch number, the test date and the method. For 26 of the 46 certificates we publish, the laboratory (Janoshik or Liquilabs) also hosts the result on its own website: open the Verify link next to the certificate and check that the batch number, the date and the purity match. Four things you can check before paying anyone. First, a report for the batch you will receive, naming the laboratory and ideally verifiable on its website. Second, whether the reported methods and results meet your assay's specification; purity, identity and peptide amount are different checks. The published report states which analyses were performed on the submitted batch sample. HPLC purity, LC-MS results, peptide content and endotoxin testing are different measurements; a report does not necessarily include all of them. Check its methods, batch number, test date and supplier, then match the batch with the product you order.

Follow the supplier's storage instructions for the specific peptide and formulation. Dry, lyophilized peptides are generally more stable than solutions; keep sealed vials protected from moisture and light, and let a cold vial warm before opening to avoid condensation. Once dissolved, stability depends on the sequence, solvent, pH, concentration and temperature. There is no general 3-12 week shelf life for all peptides. Choose the solvent and target concentration from the compound's supplier documentation and your laboratory assay. Amino acid sequence, charge and formulation affect solubility, so water, saline or an acidic solvent are not interchangeable defaults. Test solubility on a small amount first, let a cold sealed vial warm before opening, and document the solvent, pH and concentration. A preservative does not establish the peptide's chemical stability.
